Okay, so I finally got my hands on this Monopoly Pokémon Edition, and let me tell you—it’s a blast! First off, the game totally flips the script. Instead of buying properties, you’re catching Pokémon and exploring locations like forests and gyms. How cool is that?
The tokens are adorable—Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, and of course, Pikachu. My kids (ages 6 and 8) fought over who got to be Pikachu (spoiler: the younger one won). The rules are simple enough for them to pick up after a round or two, and games wrap up in about 30-45 minutes. No more 3-hour Monopoly marathons—thank Arceus!
The Adventure and Challenge cards keep things spicy. One minute you’re collecting Pokémon, the next you’re battling rivals for control of a gym. It’s chaotic in the best way. My only gripe? The jail space feels kinda pointless here. Like, why would a Pokémon Trainer go to jail? Team Rocket vibes, I guess.
Overall, 10/10 for family game night. Even my partner, who usually hates board games, got into it. If you’ve got little Pokémon fans at home, this is a must-buy. Just be prepared for daily requests to play. Gotta catch ’em all—and by that, I mean Pokémon and your kids’ attention!
