Let me start by saying I was really excited to try the Woyamay GPS Tracker for my adventurous tabby cat, Whiskers. The promise of real-time tracking, health monitoring, and geofencing sounded like a pet owner's dream come true.
The good: When it works, it works well. The compact design (about the size of a matchbox) doesn't bother Whiskers at all. I particularly love the activity tracking feature - seeing that my lazy cat actually does move around more than I thought was eye-opening. The geofence alerts gave me peace of mind when Whiskers decided to explore beyond our yard.
Now the not-so-good: Pairing this device is like trying to solve a Rubik's cube blindfolded. It took me multiple attempts over two days to get it connected initially. The battery life is disappointing - lasting barely a day with moderate use. And don't get me started on the location accuracy; one afternoon it showed Whiskers simultaneously in our backyard AND at the neighbor's house three doors down!
The app experience is frustrating at times. It frequently disconnects and requires restarting. The interface isn't very intuitive either - I still can't figure out how to properly review historical location data.
Would I recommend it? If you have a pet that tends to wander and you're tech-savvy enough to troubleshoot connectivity issues, it might be worth trying (especially with the first year free). But if you need rock-solid reliability, you might want to look at more established brands despite their higher subscription costs.
