Let me start by saying, this switch is a game-changer for anyone with a ceiling fan. The KS240 combines fan speed control and light dimming into one sleek unit, and it plays nice with Apple HomeKit, Alexa, and Google Home. After using it for several weeks, here's my honest take.
The Good: Installation was surprisingly easy thanks to the app-guided setup. I replaced my old double rocker switch in about 10 minutes (yes, I timed it). The vertical sliders feel premium to the touch - just slide your finger up or down to adjust fan speed or brightness. I love being able to whisper 'Alexa, set fan to medium' when I'm too cozy to move.
The Bad: The LED indicators are annoyingly bright at night - even at their lowest setting (1%). I ended up disabling them completely in my bedroom. Also noticed the fan speed jumps aren't perfectly even - there's a huge gap between level 3 and full speed that could use smoothing out.
Pro Tip: If you're installing this in an older home like mine, be prepared for a tight squeeze fitting all the wires into the junction box. An extended box might be worth considering.
Final Verdict: Despite minor quirks, this is currently one of the best HomeKit-compatible fan controllers on the market. Just be aware of its limitations with certain LED bulbs and occasional Wi-Fi hiccups that might require a reset.
