Let me start by saying, the DJI Osmo Mobile 7 is an absolute beast when it comes to stabilizing smartphone footage. I've been using it for my travel vlogs, and the difference in video quality is night and day compared to handheld shots.
The first thing you'll notice is how lightweight it feels (just 300g!). The ergonomic grip makes it comfortable to hold during long shooting sessions, though I did find the magnetic phone clamp slightly tricky with my bulky iPhone case.
Where this gimbal truly shines is its ActiveTrack 7.0 feature. I tested it while walking my dog - even with sudden movements, the tracking kept him perfectly framed. The built-in tripod is genius for quick setups, though I agree with some reviewers that it feels a bit flimsy.
The battery life? Phenomenal. I got a full day of shooting (about 9 hours) before needing to recharge. The ability to charge my phone via USB-C saved me multiple times when filming outdoors.
Now for the downsides: The zoom control isn't as smooth as I'd like (especially on iPhones), and there's definitely a learning curve to master all features. The DJI Mimo app is essential but can be glitchy at times.
For content creators wanting professional-looking stabilization without breaking the bank, this is hands-down one of the best options available today. Just be prepared to spend some time learning its full capabilities!
