Let me start by saying the TCL QM85 is a beast of a TV. The 75-inch screen dominates my living room, and the picture quality? Absolutely stunning. The QD-Mini LED technology delivers deep blacks and vibrant colors that make every scene pop. Watching sunsets in nature documentaries feels like I'm right there—the brightness is intense but never overwhelming.
The soundbar is a nice touch. It's not audiophile-grade, but for casual viewing, it's more than enough. Dialogue is crisp, and the Dolby Atmos adds a nice spatial effect. That said, if you're a hardcore movie buff, you might still want to invest in a separate sound system.
Setup was a breeze. Google TV is snappy, and I love how responsive the interface is. No lag, no hiccups—just smooth navigation. I did notice some minor blooming in extreme dark scenes, but you’d have to be actively looking for it to spot it.
Now, the downsides: off-angle viewing isn’t great. If you’re not sitting dead center, colors can look washed out. Also, while the remote works fine most of the time, it occasionally disconnects for a few seconds—annoying but not a dealbreaker.
Overall, this TV is a fantastic value for the price. It’s bright, colorful, and packed with features that make it stand out in its class. Just be mindful of those minor quirks.
