After putting the TOOLIOM 195A welder through its paces, I'm genuinely impressed by what this compact machine can do. The dual-voltage capability (110V/220V) makes it versatile for garage projects or job sites, though I found it truly shines at 220V.
The Good: This welder handles E6010, 6013, and 7018 rods like a champ. The LCD display is a game-changer for beginners - no more guessing amp settings! I welded 3/8" steel surprisingly well, and the hot start feature makes arc initiation buttery smooth. The VRD (voltage reduction) switch is a nice safety touch when working in tight spaces.
Reality Check: On 110V, it struggles with thicker rods - my 20A breaker tripped frequently with 7018 rods. The included cables feel skimpy; I immediately upgraded to heavier gauge leads. The right terminal connection failed during my testing (common complaint), but was an easy fix with proper washers.
TIG Note: Remember this is lift TIG only (no high frequency start). You'll need to budget extra for argon gas, torch, and accessories - the welder itself is just part of the equation.
For hobbyists or mobile repair work, this welder punches way above its weight class. Just temper expectations on 110V power and be prepared for some minor upgrades to maximize performance.
