Let me start by saying this little beast has been my constant companion during cross-country RV trips. The 5G speeds? Blazing fast when you've got coverage – we're talking seamless Zoom calls while parked at a Walmart overnight. The WiFi 6 tech handles my laptop, tablet, and two phones simultaneously without breaking a sweat.
The battery life is no joke – I consistently get 12+ hours streaming Netflix to multiple devices. Pro tip: Remove the battery when using shore power in your RV; it somehow boosts signal strength noticeably (weird but true). That said, the unit does get uncomfortably warm during prolonged use – I wouldn't recommend keeping it in your pocket.
SIM card swapping between carriers works as advertised. I've successfully used it with T-Mobile, AT&T prepaid, and even some local European SIMs during a brief overseas trip. The web interface is surprisingly robust for a mobile hotspot – you can set up guest networks, schedule WiFi shutdown times (great for parents), and monitor data usage per device.
Now for the not-so-great: The range claims are... optimistic. While it covers our 28ft RV just fine, that '2,000 sq.ft.' claim falls apart through walls. Also experienced occasional firmware update hiccups – had to manually reboot twice after auto-updates failed mid-process.
At this price point, I expected perfection. While it's hands-down the best travel router I've used (and I've tried many), that occasional overheating and finicky firmware keep it from being flawless. Still worth every penny if you need reliable internet on the move.
