If you own a Levoit LV-H133 or Meta-Air Tower air purifier, finding affordable replacement filters can be a challenge. The HSIAMEN LV-H133 replacement filter promises to deliver similar performance at a lower price point, but is it worth it? Here's my take after using it for several weeks.
The Good: First off, the fit is perfect—it slides right into my Levoit purifier just like the original. The three-stage filtration (pre-filter, HEPA, and activated carbon) does a decent job with pet dander and cooking odors. I noticed improved air quality within hours, especially around my cat's litter box area.
The Not-So-Good: There's definitely a chemical smell when first installed. While it faded after about 3 weeks (not 2 months like some reviewers claim), that initial period was unpleasant. It's not as effective on stubborn smoke odors as genuine Levoit filters either.
Best Use Case: This works well as an interim filter between OEM replacements or for mild air quality issues. At about 30% cheaper than Levoit-branded filters, it's good value if you can tolerate the break-in period.
Pro Tip: Run your purifier on high in a well-ventilated room for 48 hours before regular use to minimize the chemical odor. And mark your calendar—these need replacing every 6 months with pets in the house.
