Let me tell you, the E-Leveler 2 is one of those tools that makes you wonder how you ever lived without it. As someone who's spent countless hours fiddling with paper under nozzles, this little gadget has been a revelation.
The moment I first used it, I was struck by how intuitive the LED feedback system is. That bright light takes all the guesswork out of leveling - no more debating whether you're feeling 'slight resistance' on that piece of paper. Just adjust until the light comes on, and boom, perfect level.
What really impressed me was how it handled my older Ender 3. That machine always gave me trouble with first layers, but after using the E-Leveler 2, I'm getting buttery smooth adhesion every time. The new design improvements like the sturdier battery holder and balancing end cap make it even more reliable than the first version.
Now, it's not perfect - that tiny nozzle target can be tricky to see (I found using a bright workspace helps), and as some reviewers noted, you might need to tweak your Z-offset by about 0.15mm after leveling. But these are minor quibbles compared to the time and frustration this tool saves.
Where the E-Leveler 2 really shines is consistency. Unlike paper leveling where results can vary based on how hard you press or what type of paper you use, this gives you repeatable accuracy every time. I've used it across three different printers now with equally great results.
Is it worth $20? Absolutely. Think about all the filament (and sanity) you'll save from failed first layers alone. For beginners especially, this removes one of the most frustrating parts of 3D printing. Just be patient when learning to position it - after a few tries, it becomes second nature.
Bottom line: If your printer doesn't have auto-leveling or if you want better results than ABL provides, this belongs in your toolkit. It's transformed my printing workflow completely.
