After testing the musttrue phone holder in my 2021 Mazda 3 for a month, I can confidently say it's a decent option for Mazda owners, but with some caveats.
The installation was a breeze – it snaps right into the dashboard without any tools. The gravity-activated clamp holds my iPhone 13 (with case) securely, even on bumpy roads. One-handed operation works perfectly when I need quick access to navigation.
However, there are some drawbacks. Like other reviewers mentioned, it does rattle when empty (annoying on quiet drives). The plastic feels cheaper than expected for the price point. My unit also has one corner that refuses to stay clipped in properly.
The biggest issue is screen obstruction. It partially blocks both the infotainment display and hazard button in my model year. I solved this by adding a short extension arm (about $8 on Amazon), which made it perfect.
Pro tip: This won't work with PopSocket users, and larger phones might feel precarious in landscape mode. But for basic portrait use, it gets the job done if you're willing to overlook some plastic-y build quality.
