After using the MoesGo Smart WiFi Power Dimmer Plug for a few weeks, I have mixed feelings about this little gadget. On one hand, it's incredibly convenient to control my porch string lights with voice commands via Alexa. The ability to dim from 0-100% and set schedules through the Tuya app is a game-changer for creating ambiance or simulating presence when I'm away.
The setup was straightforward - just plug it in, connect via the app (though some users report QR code issues), and voila! I love that it doesn't require a separate hub. The compact design fits neatly in my outlet without blocking adjacent sockets too much, though it does slightly obstruct the one below it.
However, the dimming functionality leaves much to be desired. Like some reviewers mentioned, there's noticeable flickering below 50% brightness, and the difference between 5%-50% is barely perceptible. The delayed ramp-up when turning lights on/off feels clunky rather than smooth. It's also frustrating that it doesn't remember previous dim settings after power cycles.
While it works perfectly with my SunLake LED bulbs, compatibility seems hit-or-miss with other brands - something to consider if you have multiple light types. For simple on/off control via voice or app, it's reliable and reasonably priced. But if you're looking for true precision dimming across all brightness levels, you might want to explore other options.
Overall: Great for basic smart control of compatible devices, but temper your expectations regarding dimming performance and universal bulb compatibility.
