Let me start by saying the Apexcam X60Pro punches above its weight class for the price. I took this little beast on a weekend hiking and kayaking trip, and it handled everything from rocky trails to splashing waves like a champ.
The 4K/60fps video is impressively sharp - I could clearly see individual leaves rustling in trees during playback. The EIS stabilization works surprisingly well too; my kayak footage looked almost gimbal-smooth despite choppy waters. That said, colors aren't quite as vibrant as my friend's GoPro in side-by-side tests (7/10 vs 9/10).
Where this camera really shines is waterproof performance. I submerged it multiple times (with the IP68 case) while snorkeling, and the footage remained crystal clear even at 15ft depths. The external mic attachment was a game-changer for capturing crisp audio of crashing waves - though I wish there was an easy mute option.
Battery life is decent (about 70 mins recording 4K), but thank goodness they include two batteries! The auto-restart after hitting the 4GB file limit (about 12 mins of 4K) was annoying until I got used to it - not ideal for continuous events but manageable.
The app connectivity worked reliably within about 20ft range, making it easy to frame shots from my phone. Just don't expect to read small text in photos - the screen distortion makes precise focusing tricky outdoors.
For under $150, this delivers about 85% of premium action cam performance at half the price. It's not perfect, but unless you're a professional filmmaker, the Apexcam X60Pro offers tremendous value for adventurers on a budget.
