Let me start by saying, the Meross WiFi Dual Smart Plug has been a lifesaver in my smart home setup. The compact 2-in-1 design is brilliant - it fits snugly into any outlet without blocking the adjacent socket, which is something many single smart plugs fail at.
The setup was surprisingly easy. Just download the app, follow the prompts, and voila! I had both outlets connected to my Apple HomeKit and Alexa in minutes. The voice control works like a charm - "Hey Siri, turn off the living room lamp" has become my favorite command.
I've been using these plugs for my kids' night lights and holiday decorations. The scheduling feature is fantastic - no more crawling under the Christmas tree to unplug lights or worrying about leaving things on for days. The physical buttons are a nice touch too when you want manual control.
Now, it's not all perfect. The initial connection can be finicky if you have a dual-band router (you'll need to disable 5GHz temporarily). Also, the labeling of Switch 1/Switch 2 isn't intuitive - I kept mixing them up at first. And yes, they're a bit bulky - you won't fit two of these side by side in a standard duplex outlet.
But here's why I still love them: They're rock-solid reliable once set up (unlike some other brands I've tried), work seamlessly across multiple platforms (HomeKit, Alexa, Google), and that dual outlet functionality is just so darn convenient. Plus, being able to name each outlet individually in the app eliminates any confusion about which switch controls what.
If you're looking to dip your toes into smart home automation or need reliable smart plugs that won't break the bank, these are absolutely worth considering. Just be prepared for some minor setup quirks that are quickly forgotten once everything's running smoothly.
