I've been using the SONOFF Zigbee Smart Plug for a few months now, and it's become one of my favorite smart home gadgets. The setup was incredibly easy - just a quick 'Alexa, find new devices' and it was ready to go. No complicated apps or extra steps needed.
The compact design is a huge plus. Unlike some bulkier smart plugs, this one doesn't block adjacent outlets, which is perfect for power strips or crowded wall sockets. The small LED indicator is subtle but clear enough to show the status at a glance.
What really impressed me was how well it works as a Zigbee repeater. I have it placed in my hallway, and it's significantly improved the connection for my Aqara temperature sensor in the bedroom. The mesh network capability is fantastic for expanding smart home coverage without needing additional hubs.
Voice control through Alexa works flawlessly in my experience. Whether I'm turning on lamps from bed or scheduling my coffee maker in the morning, the response is instant and reliable. The sunrise/sunset automation feature has been particularly useful for outdoor lighting.
The only minor drawbacks I've noticed are that the range isn't exceptional (though typical for Zigbee devices), and while compact, it does take up more horizontal space than I'd like on some power strips. Also worth noting - you definitely need a compatible Zigbee hub (like SmartThings or Echo Plus) as this won't connect directly to WiFi.
For the price point, this plug delivers excellent value. It's ETL certified (important for safety), supports 15A circuits, and has been rock-solid reliable in daily use. After testing numerous smart plugs, this has become my go-to recommendation for anyone building out their smart home ecosystem.
