After using the Nicpro Large Art Portfolio Case for several weeks, I can confidently say it's a mixed bag (pun intended). The durable nylon material and reinforced leather corners make it feel premium - I've hauled it through rainstorms and crowded subway rides, and my artwork stayed perfectly dry thanks to the double waterproof design.
The multiple pockets are a game-changer. I stash my brushes in the smaller hook-and-loop pocket and slide a 13" sketchbook easily into the zippered compartment. The side widening feature gives me peace of mind when carrying oddly-sized canvases.
However, that zipper opening is this bag's Achilles' heel. Trying to slide in my 24x36" canvas felt like threading a needle - the reinforced ends create an opening that's frustratingly narrower than the bag itself. I've already noticed slight bending on two corners of my charcoal drawings from awkward insertions.
The collapsible design is brilliant for studio storage (it folds nearly flat behind my bookshelf), but means you'll need to DIY some rigidity. I inserted foam core boards which helped, but they don't reach the edges due to that pesky narrow opening.
At this price point, it's fantastic for students - the waterproofing and sturdy straps outperform cheaper alternatives. But professionals might want to invest in something with better access points. For me, it's become my go-to for local art fairs, though I still use a hardcase portfolio for important gallery submissions.
