Let me start by saying this soap dispenser looks fantastic on my bathroom counter. The bionic design and modern aesthetics blend seamlessly with my decor, and the 300ml capacity means fewer refills. But does it perform as well as it looks? Here's my take.
The infrared sensor works about 80% of the time - when it detects my hand, it dispenses soap in a quick 0.2 seconds without dripping. However, I've noticed it struggles with thicker soaps (like castile soap) and becomes inconsistent if I don't use the 'right' viscosity liquid.
I absolutely love not having to touch anything - especially after handling raw chicken while cooking. The waterproof base gives me peace of mind near sinks, though I wish the battery compartment was easier to access when I need to replace those 4 AAs.
The biggest surprise? That little viewing window is nearly useless unless you're using clear soap. With my opaque lavender hand soap, I have to shake the unit to guess how much is left. And yes - like another reviewer mentioned, the first squirt after inactivity is always half-hearted.
Would I recommend it? For $25, it's a decent touchless option if you're willing to experiment with soap consistencies and don't mind occasional sensor hiccups. Just don't expect perfection - this isn't a commercial-grade unit.
