Let's talk about this ultra-thin flying saucer-looking AP that's been living on my ceiling for the past month. At just 22.3mm thick, it disappears against white ceilings so well that guests don't even notice it - until they comment on how good my WiFi suddenly is.
The GOOD:
- That WiFi 6 speed is no joke. I'm getting consistent 700-800Mbps transfers between floors, which finally lets me stream 4K to every device without buffering.
- The five internal antennas provide surprisingly even coverage. My backyard security cameras (50ft away through two walls) now maintain solid connection.
- POE power is a game-changer for clean installations. One Ethernet cable handles both power and data - no hunting for outlets near the ceiling.
The NOT-SO-GOOD:
- Setup is absolutely NOT beginner-friendly. The web interface looks like it came straight from 2005, and the manual might as well be written in hieroglyphics.
- As others noted, no included power adapter. You'll need either a POE switch or injector (I used an old $15 TP-Link injector that worked fine).
- While it supports up to 128 devices, I noticed slight lag when I had 30+ IoT gadgets connected simultaneously during a smart home stress test.
PRO TIP: Mount it in the center of your space if possible. I initially installed mine near a corner and had to relocate it after mapping signal strength with WiFi Analyzer - made a huge difference in coverage.
Final verdict? If you're comfortable with basic networking concepts and want enterprise-grade WiFi 6 without paying Ubiquiti prices, this delivers impressive performance... once you survive the setup process. Just don't expect any hand-holding along the way.
