I recently got my hands on the ASUS VT169HE 15.6” touchscreen monitor, and it’s been a game-changer for my setup. The Full HD IPS display delivers crisp visuals with wide viewing angles, though I did notice it’s not as forgiving at extreme angles as I’d hoped. Mounting it on a VESA arm (like the Huanuo gas strut) transformed my workspace—no more desk clutter, and I can easily adjust the screen for CNC work or casual browsing.
The 10-point touchscreen is responsive and intuitive, especially with Windows 11’s tablet mode. However, beware: if you plan to use this as a secondary monitor, Windows forces it to be the primary display for touch to work—a baffling limitation. The included matte screen protector (a must-buy add-on) cuts glare beautifully, but the default reflective surface might annoy some users.
ASUS’s Eye Care tech is legit—no eye strain during marathon sessions—and the 75Hz refresh rate is a nice surprise for smoother scrolling. Downsides? The flimsy rear toggle switch feels cheap, and setup instructions are MIA. Also, color consistency varies between units; my older ASUS monitor outperforms this one in black levels and saturation.
For POS systems or as a compact primary display, it’s stellar. Just don’t expect 4K sharpness (it’s 768p), and pair it with a good mount to maximize flexibility. Solid buy—if you can overlook its quirks.
