Let me start by saying these Mipcase fish food dispensers are a mixed bag. At first glance, they look like a steal - two white plastic containers with multi-hole feeding ports that promise convenient portion control for your aquarium pets.
The good: The lids stay securely closed (I shook mine vigorously and nothing spilled), and the openings actually do help control food portions better than my old method of just sprinkling flakes by hand. The plastic feels surprisingly sturdy when you first handle it - definitely more rigid than I expected at this price point.
The not-so-good: That same rigid plastic becomes a drawback when dropped. Mine cracked after an accidental tumble from my aquarium stand (about 3 feet). Also, while the hinge works fine now, I can already tell it won't last forever based on how the plastic flexes each time I open it.
Biggest surprise? These might not actually be food-safe despite being marketed for aquarium use. The packaging has no food-grade certification that I could find. For shrimp or sensitive fish, this could be concerning.
Best use case: I've found them perfect for dry foods like pellets or flakes in my low-maintenance goldfish tank where I'm less worried about plastic leaching. Wouldn't trust them for expensive tropical fish or long-term use though.
