Let me start by saying, the WHOOP 4.0 is unlike any fitness tracker I've used before. The lack of a screen might seem odd at first, but it actually makes sense - this device is all about the data, not distractions.
The continuous monitoring is impressive. I wore it during my morning runs and could see real-time heart rate variability changes that my old Fitbit never picked up. The sleep tracking is next-level too - it actually caught when I was coming down with a cold before I felt symptoms!
Battery life is a dream compared to smartwatches. The charging system is genius - just clip on the battery pack while you're wearing it. No more dead devices during workouts.
Now for the not-so-great parts: The calorie tracking seems consistently lower than other devices. During my HIIT sessions, it showed about 30% fewer calories burned than my Garmin. Also, the band gets funky after a while - definitely recommend getting an extra one.
The app makes up for some of these shortcomings though. The recovery metrics are scarily accurate at predicting how hard I can push myself each day. And seeing how behaviors like alcohol or late meals affect my sleep has genuinely changed my habits.
For serious athletes or data nerds, this is worth considering despite the price tag. But if you just want basic activity tracking, there are cheaper options that might serve you better.
