Let me start by saying this pull-up bar feels like a tank. The 1.7mm thick steel construction immediately gives you confidence when you first unbox it - no flimsy feel here. I installed mine in my garage (on concrete walls, as instructed) and it hasn't budged an inch during even my most intense workouts.
The multiple grip options are where this bar really shines. I love switching between wide, neutral and close grips to target different muscle groups. The neutral grip bars especially make a noticeable difference for shoulder comfort during longer sessions. Pro tip: Use the included resistance band when starting out - it's surprisingly helpful for building up strength gradually.
Now for the not-so-great parts: Mounting was a headache. Like other reviewers mentioned, the supplied hardware is inadequate if you're not installing on concrete. I ended up spending an extra $30 at Home Depot for proper lag bolts and had to get creative with some 2x4s since my stud spacing didn't match the bar's holes perfectly.
The bar's distance from the wall (about 1.5 feet) is genius for preventing toe-taps mid-workout, but I do wish they'd included full foam padding on the main bar. After longer sessions, my hands definitely feel it on the bare metal sections.
Despite these quirks, after three months of daily use, I'm convinced this is one of the better wall-mounted options out there. It handles my 180lb frame effortlessly and has become my go-to for quick morning workouts when I can't make it to the gym.
