I recently installed the Smart Wall Outlet with 2 Individually Controlled Ports in my home, and overall, it's been a game-changer for my smart home setup. The ability to control each outlet separately via the app or voice commands through Alexa and Google Home is incredibly convenient. I use one outlet for my coffee maker and the other for a lamp, scheduling them to turn on in the morning—no more fumbling for switches!
Installation was straightforward, but like other reviewers mentioned, you MUST turn off the power first. The side and back wiring options made it easy to fit into my existing setup. However, I did notice that the physical switch controls both outlets simultaneously, which can be annoying if you want to turn off just one device manually.
The app (Smartlife) is user-friendly but has a minor flaw: it doesn’t always accurately display which outlet is active unless you dig deeper. For example, my coffee maker was on, but the app showed the lamp as 'on' instead. Not a dealbreaker, but it could use improvement.
Wi-Fi connectivity has been solid in my experience (on 2.4GHz), though some users reported issues with range or power handling. I haven’t had problems running two devices simultaneously, but I’d avoid high-power appliances like space heaters.
Bottom line: This outlet is great for basic smart home needs—just be aware of its quirks. If you're tech-savvy and want a cleaner alternative to smart plugs, it’s worth trying (though maybe buy one first to test).
