Let me start by saying this little white box has been a game-changer for my chilly home office. As someone who's tried at least 5 different space heaters over the years, the Heat Storm HS-1500-PHX stands out for several reasons.
The installation was ridiculously easy - the included template with bubble level had it mounted perfectly straight on my wall in under 15 minutes. No more tripping over floor heaters! The cord management system is genius, keeping everything looking clean and professional.
What really impressed me was the temperature control. Unlike other heaters that cycle between too hot and too cold, this maintains my preferred 68°F within ±1 degree. I confirmed this with a separate thermometer - it's that precise. The infrared heat feels more natural than the dry, stuffy air from ceramic heaters.
In my 12x14 ft office (with mediocre insulation), it takes about 20 minutes to go from 60°F to my desired temperature on the 1500W setting. The fan noise is noticeable but not disruptive - about as loud as a computer fan on high setting.
The smart features work flawlessly. Being able to turn it on from bed via Alexa before my morning meetings is luxurious. The app shows real-time power consumption too - I've measured it at exactly 750W/1500W as advertised.
Now for the downsides: The cool-down period after turning it off lasts longer than I'd like (about 5 minutes). Also, while the grill stays safe to touch during operation, I did notice some warmth in the power cord after several hours of continuous use - nothing alarming, but worth mentioning.
After three months of daily use (including through some single-digit winter days here in Colorado), I can confidently say this is one of the best space heaters I've owned. It's not perfect, but for targeted zone heating with smart features and precise temperature control, it's absolutely worth the investment.
