Let me start by saying the YOUSU 3D Printer Filament Galaxy PLA bundle is visually stunning. The glittery, multi-color options, especially the Glow in the Dark Green Starry, add a magical touch to prints. When it works, it produces beautiful, sparkly results that make your creations stand out.
However, this filament demands patience. As noted in the product description and confirmed by my experience, a 0.6mm nozzle and layer thickness above 0.2mm are essential to avoid clogs. Even then, I encountered occasional stringing, requiring tweaks to retraction settings.
The glow effect is subtle—don't expect a bright neon glow like some specialized filaments. It's more of a soft luminescence under direct light. The color-shifting Chameleon Blue was particularly finicky; it clogged my nozzle multiple times until I adjusted temperatures downward (205°C worked best for me).
On the plus side, bed adhesion was excellent with minimal warping—a relief when printing larger models. The filament feeds smoothly when dry but arrives brittle; drying before use is non-negotiable. Dimensional accuracy is spot-on, though the speckles occasionally cause drag in Bowden tubes (switching to 2.5mm tubing solved this).
This bundle shines for decorative pieces but struggles with intricate models requiring frequent retractions. If you're willing to experiment with settings and accept some trial-and-error stringing cleanup, the vibrant results can be worth it—just manage expectations regarding glow intensity and print consistency.
