Let me start by saying these figures are an absolute love letter to fans of the 1987 classic. The moment I unboxed Neal and Del, their exaggerated Funko-style features instantly transported me back to that chaotic Thanksgiving journey. Steve Martin's perpetually exasperated Neal expression? Nailed it. John Candy's endlessly optimistic Del grin? Perfectly captured.
The 4-inch scale makes them ideal shelf companions - they don't dominate your display but hold their own among other collectibles. I've got mine bookending my Blu-ray collection, and they never fail to spark conversations when friends spot them.
Where these really shine is in their details: Neal's perfectly coiffed hair (even in vinyl form!), Del's rumpled overcoat, even the subtle height difference between the actors is preserved. They're surprisingly sturdy too - survived an accidental shelf dive when my cat got curious (unlike Neal and Del's actual travel plans in the movie).
The missing trunk accessory some collectors mentioned? Honestly, while it would've been nice, these figures capture the characters' essence so well that I didn't miss it during daily display. Though I do hope Funko releases a deluxe version with it someday!
One word of caution - like another reviewer mentioned, the packaging can arrive damaged if you're particular about mint boxes. Mine came with a slight crease, but since I'm an out-of-box collector, it wasn't a dealbreaker.
At their price point, they deliver tremendous value whether you're a hardcore collector or just want some holiday decor with personality. These have become my favorite Thanksgiving tradition - I recreate movie scenes with them while the turkey cooks!
