Let me start by saying this printer is a BEAST when it works properly. The print quality? Chef's kiss! Photos come out vibrant, matching my screen colors perfectly. That "best" setting for photos? Worth every drop of ink.
The speed surprised me - I hit copy and before the scanner finished, printing had already started. The auto document feeder doesn't wait around either - it's like this printer understands my impatience.
But... (and there's always a but with printers) the Instant Ink program feels like a trap. Those "free" cartridges? Basically samples that run out fast until your subscription kicks in. And heaven forbid you let your subscription lapse - suddenly cartridges you PAID FOR won't work until you pay again. Not cool, HP.
The wireless connectivity is another pain point. Why does it keep disconnecting? I had to disable 5GHz because apparently airplanes mess with it? What year is this?
When everything works, it's magical. When it doesn't... well, let's just say I've considered taking it out back Office Space-style more than once.
Final verdict? Great when cooperative, frustrating when not. If you can handle the HP+ ecosystem and occasional tech tantrums, the print quality makes it worth considering.
