I've been using the SwitchBot Hub 2 for a few months now, and it's become an indispensable part of my smart home setup. The sleek design with its auto-adjusting display is not just eye candy - it's functional too. I love how the screen dims in low light, making it perfect for bedroom use.
The temperature and humidity monitoring is surprisingly accurate. I compared it with my professional-grade sensors, and the readings were within 0.5°F difference. The USB cable sensor placement is genius - I can position it exactly where I need measurements without moving the whole unit.
As an IR blaster, this thing is magical. It replaced five remotes in my living room (TV, soundbar, Apple TV, air purifier, and LED lights). The learning function worked flawlessly - even with my obscure brand air conditioner remote. Setup took maybe 10 minutes total.
The two programmable buttons are more useful than I expected. I set one to trigger 'movie night' scene (dims lights, turns on TV) and another for 'goodnight' (turns everything off). My kids love using them instead of fiddling with apps.
Matter support works great with HomeKit. All my sensors appeared instantly in the Home app after setup. Controlling devices through Siri feels futuristic - "Hey Siri, set living room to 72 degrees" actually works!
Now for the downsides: The app could use more pre-programmed remote templates (I had to create custom ones for most devices). Also, while Matter support is good now, early firmware had some hiccups that required customer support (who were excellent by the way).
If you're deep into Apple's ecosystem like me or want to consolidate IR remotes while adding smart monitoring, this is absolutely worth every penny. It's transformed how I interact with my home devices daily.
