Let me start by saying these mats are a bit of a rollercoaster. On one hand, they're incredibly lightweight and easy to clean – just a quick rinse with soap and water does the trick. The clear design is nice because it doesn't clash with my car's interior, and I appreciate that they show off my original carpet color.
The grip situation was scary at first. When I first installed them, I nearly did a full splits routine getting out of my car because they slid so much. But after about a week of use (and probably some body heat helping), those little nibs on the underside finally grabbed onto my carpet. Now they stay put reasonably well, though I still get occasional shifts during aggressive turns.
Durability is questionable. They're definitely thinner than what you'd get at an auto parts store for similar money. After two months of daily use (I commute about 30 miles each way), they're holding up but showing some minor curling at the edges. They've handled light rain and snow melt fine, but I wouldn't trust them against serious mud or heavy spills.
The blue tint mentioned in other reviews is real – they're not crystal clear like advertised. In my black interior it's not super noticeable, but in lighter cars it might look odd. Also worth noting: when they first arrived tightly rolled, it took days of flattening under heavy books to make them remotely usable.
For $30? They're okay as temporary protection or for someone who just needs basic coverage between proper mat purchases. But if you want serious all-weather protection that lasts, you'll probably want to invest in something more substantial.
