Let me start by saying I had high hopes for this Gosknor antifreeze cover. The 78.7x94 inch size is generous enough for most of my outdoor shrubs and smaller trees, which was the first plus.
The material feels surprisingly durable - that premium polypropylene fabric is thicker than I expected. It's breathable yet sturdy, and I didn't worry about it tearing during installation like some cheaper covers I've used before.
Now for the real test: we had an unexpected frost last week with temperatures dipping to 28°F (-2°C). I carefully zipped up the cover around my young lemon tree, making sure to use both the drawstring and zipper closure. The design makes application easy, but...
Here's the disappointing part - despite proper use, my tree still showed significant frost damage. The cover did protect against wind and light frost, but in a hard freeze, it wasn't enough. The leaves still got damaged where they touched the cover's interior.
On the positive side, it's excellent for milder conditions - blocking harsh sunlight and protecting against birds has worked perfectly. The zipper design makes daily checks on my plants super convenient compared to tie-on covers.
Would I recommend it? For light frost protection and pest control - absolutely. For serious freeze protection - temper your expectations. It's good quality for what it is, but not a miracle worker in extreme cold.
