Let me start by saying this sunshade is a beast when it comes to blocking UV rays. I've been using it in my 2017 Silverado for about three months now, and that thick, sturdy material really does block out 99% of sunlight like they claim. My dash used to get hot enough to fry eggs - not anymore!
The custom fit is mostly accurate, though I noticed the same small side gaps (about 1/2 inch) that other reviewers mentioned. It's not perfect coverage, but way better than those flimsy universal shades I used before. The silver reflective surface makes a noticeable difference - when I remove it after a sunny day, the steering wheel isn't burning my hands anymore.
Installation takes some getting used to. The thickness means you can't bend it around the rearview mirror easily like thinner shades. I developed a technique where I tilt the bottom in first, then swing the top up. There's definitely some sunlight that sneaks through the mirror cutout area, but for dash protection (my main concern), it works great.
Storage is my one real complaint. When folded, it's about the size of a large pizza box - not exactly compact. I keep mine behind the rear seats, but in smaller trucks this might be an issue. The material quality justifies the price though - this isn't some $10 shade that'll fall apart in a season.
Would I buy again? Absolutely. Despite minor gaps, it's the best solution I've found for protecting my truck's interior from Texas sun. Just know it won't make your cabin ice cold - you'll still need to run the AC when you first get in, but at least your dashboard won't be cracking from UV damage.
