Let me start by saying this Kobalt angle grinder is a beast when it comes to power. I've put it through its paces cutting through metal cages (more on that later) and it hasn't let me down.
The first thing you'll notice is its slightly larger size compared to standard 4.5" grinders. While this makes it a bit bulkier to handle, the trade-off is impressive torque that doesn't drain the battery too quickly.
Speaking of batteries - wow! I've gone through about 50 charges already (yes, I use it that much) and performance hasn't dipped. The runtime is solid for cordless, though keep an extra battery handy for big jobs.
Now for the not-so-great: the included cutting disc was disappointing. It literally disintegrated after one metal cage project. Thankfully, swapping in DeWalt discs solved this completely - a must-do upgrade in my book.
The carrying case is a nice bonus, and the tool feels durable despite not being babied (as tools shouldn't be!). At this price point, it's hard to complain about minor issues when the core grinding performance delivers so well.
Final verdict? If you're building up your Kobalt tool collection or need reliable cordless grinding power, this is worth every penny - just budget for better discs right away.
