First off, the KINGART Gel Sticks are a dream to work with. The creamy texture makes them glide effortlessly on paper, wood, and canvas. I’ve used them for backgrounds in my adult coloring books, and they’re a lifesaver—way faster and more vibrant than pencils alone.
The water-soluble feature is a standout. You can smudge them dry for bold colors or add water for a beautiful watercolor effect. I love dissolving a bit on a palette and brushing it on—it’s like magic how the opaque colors turn translucent.
The 72-color range is impressive, especially the metallics. They blend like a dream, and the pigment is rich and lightfast. Plus, they’re odorless and non-toxic, which is great for long art sessions.
However, there are downsides. Some users reported receiving used or defective sticks (mine were fine, thankfully). Also, while they’re cheaper than Faber-Castell, they’re not *cheap*, so quality control should be tighter.
For mixed media or Bible journaling, these are fantastic. Minimal cleanup and versatile uses make them a staple in my art kit. Just wish there were more white sticks for blending!
