Let me start by saying this set is PERFECT for casual backyard games or picnics. The 12 rackets + shuttlecocks mean no one gets left out when my big family gathers. The steel frames feel surprisingly light yet sturdy when swinging - way better than those flimsy dollar-store rackets!
The included carry bags are a lifesaver. We toss 3 rackets in each bag and head to the park - no more tangled rackets in the trunk! Though pro tip: immediately replace the nylon shuttlecocks. They wobble like drunk butterflies mid-air. A $10 pack of feather shuttlecocks made our games 10x more enjoyable.
Now the not-so-great part: those handles. After a few months of weekly use, 4 of our rackets developed "handle leprosy" - the grip tape started unraveling like old bandages. Some duct tape fixes it temporarily, but it's annoying. Also, don't expect tournament-level durability - one overenthusiastic nephew smashed his racket against concrete (RIP) and it snapped like a twig.
For beginners or occasional players? Absolute steal at this price. We've had ours for 8 months and besides the handle issue (now our family joke - "who's got tape duty today?"), they've survived countless backyard tournaments. Just know these are more "fun in the sun" tools than professional gear.
