I've been using the musttrue car phone holder in my 2021 Chevy Equinox for about a month now, and it's been... interesting. Let me break down my experience with this supposedly 'perfect' phone mount.
The good first: installation was indeed super easy - just clicks right into the vent. The positioning is fantastic, placing my phone at the perfect eye-level without blocking any controls. When it works, the gravity linkage mechanism is smooth - one-handed operation is a dream while driving.
However (and this is a big however), I'm having serious doubts about durability. Like some reviewers mentioned, the plastic components feel flimsy. Mine hasn't broken yet, but I'm babying it after reading those horror stories. The adhesive pad issue is real too - mine fell off twice during hot days before I reinforced it with extra tape.
Phone compatibility is another concern. While it claims to fit phones up to 3 inches wide, my iPhone 13 Pro Max in its case barely squeezes in. Forget about quick in-and-out - you'll be wrestling with it at red lights.
Would I recommend it? Maybe... if you get it on sale and are willing to make some modifications. For $20+, I expected better quality control and customer service based on those negative reviews.
