After using the Logitech G435 for several weeks, I can confidently say it's a solid budget-friendly wireless gaming headset with some standout features – and a few quirks.
The Good: The first thing you'll notice is how incredibly light these are at just 165g. After marathon gaming sessions on my PS5, my neck didn't feel strained at all. The breathable fabric earcups kept my ears cool, though they don't provide much noise isolation.
Sound Quality: The 40mm drivers deliver decent audio for gaming - explosions in Call of Duty had satisfying punch, though bass-heavy music sounds a bit thin. The Dolby Atmos compatibility is nice when it works properly, but I did experience occasional audio cutouts during intense gameplay moments.
Connectivity: The dual LIGHTSPEED/Bluetooth capability is fantastic. I could seamlessly switch between my Switch (docked) via Bluetooth and PC using the USB dongle. However, note that Xbox compatibility is missing - a significant limitation for some gamers.
The Mic Situation: While convenient having built-in mics, voice chat quality is just okay. Friends said I sounded 'distant' compared to when I use my Blue Yeti. For casual gaming it's fine, but streamers might want something better.
Battery Life: I consistently got about 15 hours per charge (slightly less than advertised) with mixed Bluetooth/LIGHTSPEED use. The USB-C charging is convenient though.
The Verdict: At its current price point (~$80), the G435 offers impressive comfort and decent performance for casual gamers who prioritize wireless freedom over audiophile-quality sound. Just temper your expectations around microphone quality and bass response.
