Let me start by saying the ULTIMEA Poseidon D70 delivers impressive surround sound for its price range. The 7.1ch virtual system creates a surprisingly immersive experience, especially when watching action movies - you can literally feel the explosions rumbling through the wireless subwoofer.
The setup was easier than I expected. Within 20 minutes, I had all four wired surround speakers positioned (though I did need to buy separate stands) and the soundbar connected to my LG OLED TV. The 20-foot cables for rear speakers give you decent placement flexibility.
Where this system really shines is with the Ultimea Smart App control. Being able to tweak the 10-band equalizer while watching different content is a game-changer - I use 'Movie' mode for films and 'Game' mode when playing PS5. The 121 preset equalizer matrices offer insane customization if you're an audio geek.
Now for some drawbacks: It doesn't support Dolby Atmos (as noted in specs), and like one reviewer mentioned, it wouldn't sync with my TV remote either - always needing the soundbar remote is annoying. Also, while the virtual surround works well, audiophiles will notice it's not true discrete channel separation.
For under $300 though? This system punches above its weight class. My husband (who's picky about audio) was genuinely impressed when we watched Top Gun: Maverick - the jet flyovers had real depth and directionality. Just temper your expectations - it's excellent for budget home theater, but won't replace high-end systems.
