Let me start by saying I was really excited to try the Cushion Bump Strap as a pregnant woman who spends a lot of time driving. The concept is brilliant - a simple adjuster to relieve belly pressure from seat belts. Installation was indeed a breeze, living up to the 'no tools needed' promise. I had it set up in my Honda Civic in under 30 seconds.
The universal fit claim holds true too. It worked perfectly with both my car's seatbelt and my husband's truck. The adjustable strap is thoughtful, allowing customization as my bump grows. For short drives (under 30 minutes), it does provide noticeable comfort by distributing the belt's pressure.
However, I have to address the quality concerns mentioned in other reviews. The strap material does feel thinner than expected - more like a sturdy ribbon than proper seatbelt material. While it hasn't failed me yet, I do find myself checking its integrity frequently, especially after longer drives where there's more tension.
Another downside is that on particularly hot days, the strap tends to dig in slightly unless positioned perfectly. It's not painful, but noticeable enough to require occasional readjustment during long trips.
Would I recommend it? With reservations. For occasional drivers or those with short commutes, it's a decent affordable solution. But if you're frequently on the road or want something more heavy-duty, you might want to invest in a higher-end maternity seatbelt adjuster.
