Let me start by saying - this steelbook edition is STUNNING. The metallic underwater artwork pops in 4K, making it a must-have for DC collectors. But is the movie itself worth your time? Here's my take after multiple viewings.
PROS: Jason Momoa remains endlessly charismatic as Arthur Curry. His buddy-cop dynamic with Patrick Wilson's Orm is the heart of the film - their banter had my family laughing out loud. The underwater action sequences (especially the whale cavalry moment!) look breathtaking in 4K Dolby Vision.
CONS: The plot feels rushed at times. Black Manta gets sidelined just when he becomes interesting, and that environmental message? It hits you over the head like Aquaman's trident. Also, yes - my steelbook arrived with a tiny dent (thanks, Amazon shipping!).
BOTTOM LINE: Not DC's best, but far from its worst. Perfect for Friday pizza-and-movie nights with teens who just want spectacle. Just manage expectations - this is more 'Fast & Furious underwater' than 'Dark Knight depth'.
