After using the HYHome automatic soap dispenser for several weeks, I'm torn between loving its sleek design and frustrated by some functional quirks.
The good first: The matte navy blue finish looks premium on my kitchen counter. The 500ml capacity means I only refill every 3-4 weeks (with a family of four). I particularly appreciate the adjustable dispensing levels - level 1 for quick hand rinses, level 3 when dealing with greasy pans.
The built-in clock is surprisingly useful when cooking. No more checking my phone with messy hands! The USB-C charging is convenient, though I did notice battery life varies greatly (2 months as advertised vs. just 3 weeks in heavy use).
Now the frustrations: The motion sensor is inconsistent. Sometimes it works perfectly; other times I have to wave like I'm conducting an orchestra. As another reviewer noted, bright under-cabinet lighting seems to interfere with the sensor - an odd design flaw for a kitchen product.
While the low-soap indicator works well, there's no warning before complete pump failure. Mine stopped working abruptly after 2 months despite showing full charge. Customer service was unhelpful about replacements.
For $40, I expected better reliability. It's fantastic when working - hygienic, elegant and practical. But the quality control issues make me hesitant to recommend buying multiple units as some reviewers have done.
