Let me start by saying, this Ryu figure from Jada Toys is an absolute game-changer for Street Fighter fans. As someone who's collected action figures for years, I can confidently say this is the best 6" Ryu I've ever handled.
The sculpt is phenomenal - it perfectly blends classic Street Fighter II aesthetics with subtle modern touches. The face captures that iconic determined look from the character select screen, though I do wish they'd gone with brown gloves instead of red for that true vintage vibe.
Where this figure really shines is articulation. The engineering is masterful - I could recreate every single one of Ryu's signature moves from Hadokens to Shoryukens without any limitations. The soft plastic gi doesn't restrict movement at all, though the joints were a bit stiff out of the package (they loosen up nicely after some play).
The accessories are well thought out: alternate hands, an angry screaming head, and a Hadoken effect piece with stand. At around $27, this is incredible value - though I wouldn't have minded a battle-damaged head as an extra.
My only real complaints? No toe articulation (not a dealbreaker) and Amazon's terrible packaging - they just slapped a label on the collector's box! Also beware of potential QC issues with the neck joint if you force it too far upward.
For collectors building a Street Fighter display or just fans wanting premium quality at an affordable price, this Ryu is a must-buy. Jada has set a new standard for what licensed game figures should be - now I'm eagerly awaiting their entire SFII lineup!
