After using the NGTeco TC1 Cloud Time Clock for several weeks in my small business, I have mixed feelings. The hardware itself is sturdy and reliable, with a simple design that doesn't take up much space. The inclusion of 5 RFID cards right out of the box is a nice touch.
What Works Well:
The cloud functionality is genuinely useful when it works properly. Being able to check employee punches from my phone while away from the office has saved me multiple trips back to check records. The facial recognition works decently (though sometimes too well - it occasionally clocks people in automatically when they just walk by!). Data encryption gives me peace of mind about security.
Pain Points:
The setup process was frustrating - the instructions might as well have been written in hieroglyphics. I spent nearly two hours getting everything configured properly. The software interface feels like it was designed by engineers who never actually ran a business. Simple tasks like editing punches or creating biweekly reports are either impossible or buried under layers of menus.
Real-World Performance:
In daily use, it's reliable for basic clock-in/out functions. However, the promised multi-device synchronization only works about 80% of the time in my experience. When our internet went down for half a day last week, the device kept local records fine, but reconciling those with the cloud data afterward was a headache.
Customer Service Saves the Day:
Like other reviewers mentioned, customer support is excellent. Joseph walked me through some tricky configuration issues and had our whole team set up with cards and fingerprints in under an hour. This level of support makes dealing with the system's quirks more bearable.
The Verdict:
If you need basic time tracking with cloud access and don't mind some software frustrations, this could work for you - especially if your business has simple shift patterns. But if you need robust editing capabilities or complex scheduling, you might want to look at their non-cloud models or competing systems.
