I've been using the Matast Smartwatch for a few weeks now, and it's honestly blown me away for the price. The 1.96" HD screen is crisp and responsive—way better than I expected from a budget watch. Swiping through menus feels smooth, and the always-on display option is a nice touch.
The call functionality works surprisingly well! I've taken calls while cooking (greasy fingers = no phone touchscreen) and the built-in speaker is loud enough for indoor use. Message notifications from WhatsApp and Instagram pop up instantly—no more frantic phone-checking during meetings.
Fitness tracking is where things get interesting. The 110+ sport modes feel excessive (do we really need separate modes for 'basketball' and 'shooting hoops'?), but the step counter aligns closely with my iPhone's Health app. Sleep tracking shows me waking up 2-3 times nightly... which explains why I'm always tired.
Battery life has been stellar—5 days with moderate use including continuous heart rate monitoring. The charging cable magnetically snaps on (take notes, Apple Watch users!).
Now the downsides: The silicone band collects lint like crazy, and I did experience minor skin irritation until I switched to a NATO strap. Some watch faces look pixelated when customized. Also, the 'find my phone' feature only works if your phone isn't on silent—learned that the hard way during a frantic couch-cushion search.
For under $40? Absolute steal compared to my friend's $300 Galaxy Watch that does essentially the same things. Just don't expect medical-grade accuracy or premium materials.
