Let me start by saying – I LIVE in these Dokotoo oversized tees during summer. I own three colors (pastel pink, blue, and black) and they’ve become my wardrobe MVPs. The slightly thicker fabric surprised me at first – it’s not your flimsy $5 tee – but this makes them perfect for avoiding bra-showthrough while still being breathable.
The high-low hem is GENIUS. As someone who’s 5’8”, the back perfectly covers my butt when wearing leggings (no awkward tugging needed!), while the shorter front keeps it from looking frumpy. I’ve worn these for:
- Morning school runs with bike shorts
- Coffee dates with distressed jeans
- Even dressed up with statement jewelry for casual Fridays at work
Sizing tip: They run VERY oversized. I typically wear Medium but could’ve sized down to Small for a less ‘drowning in fabric’ look. My Medium measures about 3” wider than my usual tees. That said, the XL-loving reviewers are right too – if you want true oversized comfort, stay true to size.
After 10+ washes (yes, I abuse them), colors haven’t faded and there’s zero shrinkage. The fabric gets softer with each wash while maintaining structure – no pitiful stretched-out necklines here.
Downsides?
- The fabric weight makes them borderline too warm for peak summer heatwaves
- Not tailored enough for formal settings (obviously)
- Some loose threads on seams (but at this price point, expected)
At under $20, these punch way above their weight class. They’re not luxury quality, but outperform most fast-fashion basics. Pro tip: Buy multiple colors during sales – you WILL reach for them constantly.
