First off, let me say this speaker is built like a tank. I took it to the beach, dropped it in the sand (oops), and it didn't even flinch. The IP67 waterproof rating gives me peace of mind when using it by the pool - though I haven't tested the 'floating' claim yet!
The 360-degree sound is impressive for its size. I placed it in the center of my living room during a small gathering, and everyone could hear crisp audio no matter where they were standing. The bass definitely thumps at moderate volumes, though like some reviewers mentioned, it does taper off when you crank it past 75%.
Battery life is stellar - I got about 18 hours playing at medium volume before needing to recharge. The USB-C charging is a welcome upgrade from previous models (no more hunting for that special cable!).
Now for the not-so-great: The PartyUp feature was finicky when I tried pairing with a friend's BOOM 3. We had to restart both speakers and phones before they synced properly. Once working though? Pure magic.
Is it worth $200? If you prioritize durability and portability with good (not audiophile-grade) sound, absolutely. But if pure audio quality is your top priority, you might want to audition some JBL or Bose options first.
