After using the MOES Smart Thermostat for a month in my 2-story home, I'm impressed by its core functionality but found some quirks worth mentioning. The sleek touchscreen interface looks modern and responds well to taps - a huge upgrade from my old honeywell dial thermostat.
The Good: Installation was surprisingly easy despite my lack of C-wire. The included adapter worked perfectly, though I had to watch a YouTube tutorial to properly connect the O/B wire (the manual isn't clear about this). The Smart Life app integration is seamless once set up - being able to adjust temperature while lying in bed is game-changing.
The Not-So-Good: Like several reviewers mentioned, the temperature readings were off by about 3°F initially. It took me 15 minutes to find the calibration setting in the app (Menu → Setting → T/H Correction). The remote sensor's 9-foot range limitation makes it nearly useless - I ended up not using it at all.
Pro Tip: If connecting to WiFi gives you trouble, look under 'Small Appliances' in the app and select the WiFi-only version (not BLE or BLE+WiFi). This solved my connection issues immediately.
While it lacks some premium features like learning capabilities or extended sensor range, for under $60, this thermostat delivers excellent value if you're willing to work through its minor quirks. Just keep your old thermostat handy for a week in case you need to recalibrate or troubleshoot.
