Let me start by saying this little black cube has become my daily companion. Whether I'm doing dishes or lounging in the backyard, the OontZ Solo delivers surprisingly powerful sound from its palm-sized body.
The first thing that struck me was how LOUD this mini speaker gets. At full volume, it easily fills my medium-sized bedroom - enough to annoy my upstairs neighbors (sorry not sorry). The bass punches above its weight class, though audiophiles might want to tweak their EQ settings as it does emphasize lower frequencies.
Battery life is where this speaker truly shines. I consistently get 9-10 hours of playtime at moderate volume. The waterproofing works like a charm too - I've accidentally left it by the pool multiple times with no issues.
My only gripe? The all-black design makes the buttons hard to see in low light. A backlight or contrasting color would solve this. Also wish they offered more fun colors beyond basic black and red.
At around $30, this is an absolute steal compared to bigger brand names. It's become my go-to gift for friends who appreciate good sound without bulk. Just don't expect concert-level performance - for its size though, it's phenomenal.
