Just finished 'Midnight Black,' and wow—Mark Greaney does it again! The action is relentless, especially in the last quarter of the book. I found myself flipping pages faster than Court Gentry dodges bullets. The prison rescue sequence? Pure adrenaline.
What I love most is how Greaney weaves familiar faces like Zoya, Zach, and Hanley into the chaos. Their dynamics feel real—like old friends you’re rooting for. That said, the first half dragged a bit with setup. Could’ve trimmed 100 pages and lost nothing.
The ending left me conflicted (no spoilers!), but it’s classic Gray Man: morally messy leadership and a cliffhanger that’ll have you groaning for the next book. If you’re new to the series, start earlier—you’ll miss too much depth jumping in here.
Minor gripes aside, this might be my favorite installment yet. That corridor scene? Genius. Greaney’s research shines without bogging things down. Already counting days till Book 15.
