After a month with the G1 Android TV box, I'm convinced it's one of the most versatile streaming devices under $100. The setup was stupid easy - plug in HDMI, connect Wi-Fi 6 (which is noticeably faster than my old Roku), and boom, I was watching The Mandalorian in buttery 4K HDR10+ within minutes.

What surprised me most was how snappy everything feels. Scrolling through Disney+ or switching between Netflix and YouTube TV has zero lag - that Amlogic S905X4 chip really delivers. The 32GB storage means I've got all my streaming apps plus a few Android games (Asphalt 9 runs shockingly well) without worrying about space.

The Google integration is where this shines. Being able to shout 'Hey Google, play Stranger Things on Netflix' while washing dishes actually feels futuristic. Chromecast built-in means my phone videos appear on the big screen instantly - no more huddling around a phone to show vacation videos.

One gripe? Hulu's Android TV app is indeed broken (as other reviews noted), but sideloading the mobile version works fine. For $89, getting near-Nvidia Shield performance with Wi-Fi 6 and Dolby Vision support feels like stealing. This little black box replaced three other devices in my entertainment center.
