I recently installed the Forestchill Window AC Side Panels, hoping to seal those annoying gaps around my window unit. The foam panels themselves are thick and look sleek with their white PU leather finish—definitely an upgrade from the flimsy original panels.
Installation was straightforward. I cut them to size (they're adjustable, which is great) and used the included adhesive tape. At first, everything held nicely, and my room felt noticeably less drafty. No more cold air sneaking in during winter or cool air escaping in summer—big win for energy efficiency!
But here’s the catch: the tape is *terrible*. After a few days, it started peeling off every surface—wood, glass, even the foam itself. I woke up to a mini horror show: panels sagging, gaps reappearing, and yes... bees in my bedroom. Not exactly the 'sealed insulation' I paid for.
I ended up reinforcing everything with Gorilla Tape (why don’t they just include quality tape?!). Once I did that, though, the panels worked like a charm—no more bugs or drafts. If you buy these, skip their tape entirely and go straight to heavy-duty duct tape.
Final verdict? The foam panels *do* their job well... but only if you’re willing to put in extra work to make them stay put. For the price, I expected better adhesion out of the box.
