Okay, so I finally got around to installing these sliding door locks, and here's the tea ☕.
First off, the installation was surprisingly easy. The screws are sturdy AF, but heads up – they might be too long for some doors. I had to swap them out for shorter ones (no biggie though).
The dual-position feature is genius! I can either lock the door completely or leave it slightly open for ventilation. Perfect for when I want fresh air but don't want my escape-artist cat making a run for it 🐈.
I installed mine on the top rail because (a) my toddler thinks doors should always be open, and (b) it actually makes it harder to lift the door panel out of the track. Extra security win!
Quality-wise? These things feel solid. The spring mechanism is strong, and they look way more expensive than they actually are. For the price, you're getting serious bang for your buck.
Pro tip: Measure your door frame carefully before ordering! You need at least 2 inches of width. And maybe wear safety glasses if you're doing any drilling – nobody wants glass shards in their eyes 😬.
Would I recommend? 100%. They're not Fort Knox-level security, but they'll definitely stop casual intruders and curious kids/pets. Plus they blend in nicely with white door frames.
